It was the only event of its kind in the country, with a different concept from other summer festivals. During the day you learn the steps and in the evening you have the opportunity to dance. The day is taken up not only with dance workshops from all over the world, which encourage contact and learning about dance and the culture of different peoples, but also with parallel activities such as instrument building, BookCrossing, children&#8217;s areas, talks, presentations of works, stories and tales and many other spontaneous performances that take place in the space. It&#8217;s also a night for dancing, with jam sessions that last until the morning!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5c96c8f e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"5c96c8f\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_ha_eqh_enable&quot;:false}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fb3ee54 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"fb3ee54\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">1999 - 2010<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-376c692 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"376c692\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Between 1999 and 2010 it was held in the village of Carvalhais, where it grew from a small festival to a nationwide event with thousands of participants.<br \/>Almost the entire organization is the work of a huge team of volunteers, including musicians, assistants, collaborators, trainers and activity leaders. The festival&#8217;s social and economic policy focuses heavily on ecology to reduce any negative impact it may have. Exemplary pollution reduction measures are implemented at the level of organizations such as: Zero Plastic, water reuse, resource reuse, permanent hygiene, etc. The festival&#8217;s economic sustainability is based on institutional and volunteer collaboration, leaving aside the need to sacrifice visual and intellectual space with advertising.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7ce7ddb e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"7ce7ddb\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_ha_eqh_enable&quot;:false}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8445015 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"8445015\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">2011<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-96f4311 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"96f4311\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_ha_eqh_enable&quot;:false}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-79bbdc1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"79bbdc1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In 2011, the P\u00e9deXumbo Association, organizer of the festival, went through a period of internal reflection about its objectives and principles as an alternative to consumer society. These were two editions that communicated with the whole town and allowed the Andan\u00e7as spirit to survive.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d15c484 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"d15c484\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_ha_eqh_enable&quot;:false}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1807738 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1807738\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Desde 2021<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5d2f15f e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"5d2f15f\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_ha_eqh_enable&quot;:false}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-23eb038 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"23eb038\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>After a two-year break, due to the change of venue to an Alentejo location closer to P\u00e9deXumbo&#8217;s headquarters in \u00c9vora, and the pandemic, Andan\u00e7as will return in 2021.<br \/>In 2021, the Andan\u00e7as Festival found a new home in Campinho, a village in the municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz, overlooking the Alentejo plain, cork oaks and holm oaks, 3km from the Alqueva water mirror. That year we started \u201cWalking to Andan\u00e7as\u201d, in a special edition to get to know the region and look to the future of the festival, with around 60 people. And so, the following year, Andan\u00e7as sprouted in Campinho, bringing back the festival&#8217;s four pillars &#8211; Dance&amp;Music, Volunteering, Community and Sustainability &#8211; and the large family of \u201cAndantes\u201d. A challenging edition that embraced the whole village and also received the embrace of this community!
