Travel by train in all comfort and benefit of a discount!
In 2018, CP renews their partnership with Andanças, offering all participants a discount of 30% of the ticket value. You need to bring the purchase confirmation of your festival ticket or the confirmation that you are a volunteer (which can be requested by email at voluntariado@andancas.net). The discount only applies to tickets bought at a CP ticket counter.
From Lisbon, Porto or any other place in the country travel to the train station of Vila Velha de Ródão, which is located about 45 km from Castelo de Vide.
The Andanças shuttle bus, provided by the organisation of the festival, will transport all participants and their belongings for free to the festival site. It also returns to Vila Velha de Ródão.

The CP discount applies to intercity, regional and interregional train services, for return trips to and from Ródão between 31 July and 6 August, after presentation of purchase confirmation of a festival ticket. Volunteers need to request a confirmation from their coordinator.

From any point of the country, you can travel to Andanças with Rede Expressos! This year with maximum comfort because when you reach Castelo de Vide with Rede Expressos you will be about 500 meters from the Andanças main grounds and camping area!
In 2018 there is a new partnership between Andanças and Rede Expressos, with a 25% discount on the full ticket price (the price you will pay if you buy the ticket directly at the ticket office) for those who choose to travel by bus to Castelo de Vide and Portalegre and make the purchase of their ticket online.
To enjoy this discount, participants must purchase the online ticket from the Rede Expressos website, from July 6 to August 6, for travel to Castelo de Vide from 27 July to 6 August, and use the following promotional code: AND2018 and purchase your travel online. It may be necessary to present your proof of ticket for the festival at the bus entry. If you are a volunteer, you can request a volunteer proof from your coordinator.

Cycling is a perfect way to arrive at Andanças. Not only does it allow you to intensely experience nature and the landscape, it is also a cheap and environmental friendly way of travelling. It will allow you to start the Andanças experience even before you arrive at the festival! You can plan your route here.

You prefer to go by car? Maybe you drive yourself and have space for more people? Try a more sustainable, economic and social way of travelling and offer free spaces to people who look for them. Or if you don't have a car, search for a lift. Either from friends, family or try web services like Boleia.net to find or offer a lift to the festival.

If you prefer to go by car, our GPS coordinates are: 39°24'51.3"N / 7°27'03.1"W. Below, you can also find suggested routes. Please note that local traffic might be diverted. If you come from far or close, don't forget to carefully plan your journey and check the opening hours of the festival.
This year there will be no official parking for the festival. There will be a few parking areas throughout Castelo de Vide, but parking in the village is limited. Therefore we recommend to take the car only as last possible option.
