Traveling in the vicinity 
Due to the festival, the local traffic routing will be changed. This year, Andanças takes place in the natural park of the Serra de São Mamede, a nature reserve. In order to minimize the impact of the festival on the environment and to keep the surroundings clean, we ask you to choose the least pollutant way of traveling. And for those taking their car, why not leaving it on the parking place during the festival?

For participants of Andanças there are several alternatives to get about in the surroundings of the festival:

Ride the bike: bring your own bike or take one of the rental bikes provided at Andanças. There is a limited number of parking stations for bikes at the festival (free but not monitored). The area around the festival site is level and there are several secondary roads. If you like mountain-biking, check the web-site of the Tourist office of Castelo de Vide.
Hiking: Go for long walks and enjoy the extraordinary landscape surrounding the festival site. At the Tourist office of Castelo de Vide you can get information on nice tracks in the area, or you click here. 
Participate in walks and local activities organized by Andanças. Many of them include the transport and offer the great opportunity to get to know the surroundings and its peculiarities. Check the program online or on site and make sure to subscribe to those walks and activities in time. 
Use the Andanças shuttle bus to Castelo de Vide to get to know this town. The shuttle bus is free for participants of Andanças and it goes to Castelo de Vide several times a day (see schedule below).
